I need new pants!

It's almost midnight and I can't effing sleep. I need my flu pills! Urgh. I didn't bring any marking home so I can't mark myself to sleep. Haha.

Just found out that freaking Dunearnite will be held at ACJC. Like, WTF?! No June holidays, a lot of work but hey... I lost a lot of weight during the course of Dunearnite 07 so I might lose a lot more this time round. I must think positive yah?

I have so much work to do. It's really annoying. I also have to shop for pants. My old ones keep slipping to the floor everytime I put them on. I don't know whether to be happy or sad. I am soooo darn pathetic.

I'm really tired nowadays. The house is a mess but I just can't bring myself to be the Energizer bunny I once was. I think I've lost it. Some students in my form class even asked me in class today whether I was drunk coz I was teaching and laughing (for no apparent reason) at the same time. Is that a bad sign? Am I really going bonkers?

Life is such an irony. I should have studied harder and been a doctor. Then I can reward myself with MCs whenever I think I've worked too hard. For now, I just drag myself out of bed every weekday morning and try to mould the future of the nation. Hmm... ya, right.

Negativities aside, life ain't so bad, yah? In fact, life's good. It's very good. Come, repeat it with me. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good (wait... dejavu). Shucks... I have nothing to wear to school tomorrow. I really don't fancy putting on "down there" pants. I need to buy new pants (haven't I said that already?).

I need sleep. Sleep is good...so is life. Yups.

What Keeps Me Sane...

The girls and I hung out early this week. We had our "us" time. It was good.

Then, yesterday, me and An brought Ayra to "Snow City". We didn't bring Fuddin cause we figured it would be too cold for his liking and were we right! It was -5.3 degrees celsius lah! We had fun though although it was a bit too cold. We went down the slide 4 times. It was a pretty expensive trip though but it was worth it. I felt like a kid lying down in the "snow"! We will bring Fuddin there when he's like Ayra's age. We weren't allowed to take photos though so this is all I have. I paid like $15 for the group pic so it better be good.

Life is Good? Life IS Good!

Ok, the kids are taking their afternoon nap and I'm supposed to be marking 5 Pearls's personal recounts but I'm itching to post. The problem is, I don't have any photos and we didn't really go anywhere this weekend so I'm stuck. Still, I will try.

So let's talk about work. I've survived 1 and a 1/2 week of school. How was it? Not too bad. My classes are pretty okay. I'm a bit stressed up over the 5Ns though. I've got to make them all pass the "O"s! It's scary but I'll do my best. I do hope they won't lose steam halfway and give up though.

Anyway, last Friday, we celebrated dear Carol's birthday. We went out for a meal, just us 4 girls. We talked (really talked) and ate. We had a pretty enlightening time. Anyway girls, I'm really thankful for your friendship. I really don't know how to stay sane if I didn't have all your support, companionship, witty anecdotes, quirkiness and most of all, your love. I love you guys (Awwwww.....).

At home, things are the same. Fuddin has been a bit unwell but he's coping. Grandma and Grandad says he's getting more mischievous by the day but hey, I see that as a natural and healthy progression. As for Ayra, she's the same. She's learning new things at school and her reading has improved. She's becoming more outspoken though and demands an explanation for everything which is good but tiring at times.

As for the hubby, things are also the same. He's bored when I'm at work and he's off work but he'll survive. Also, the fact that he's not going fishing till March is also killing him. Don't worry dear, the fishes will still be out there (wry smile).

As for me, what can I say? My mind is still in a mess. I don't really sleep well at night. Only my girls will know why. Still, I know there is a light at the end of every dak tunnel and somehow, I will find that light. How and when I find that light is still a mystery but I'm optimistic. I have to be. If not, I'll drown.

Life is good. I need to continuously repeat that to myself every single day. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good. Life is good.

Hanging Around...

This is a random post. I took some pics over the last few days so I need to post them up. The first few photos are us at West Coast Park on New Year's Day and the second batch are of Yusuf's first birthday bash.

Sec 1 CCA Recruitment Drive

Yup, Dunearn Secondary School's dramamama club is recruiting. We have HUGE plans this year, Speech Day, acting workshops, Dunearnite, preparation for SYF 2009... It's going to be a long and bumpy ride but hey, these kids make it all worth while. Me and Mrs Lian love you guys... We'll have a good year together, yah?

And So the End is Near...

Uh huh. The end is near... the end of the school holidays, that is. So what were the highlights of this school holiday?

1) Managed a successful Dunearnite
2) Went for a short but enjoyable trip to malacca
3) Braved through a bout of my kids illnesses
4) Found out some way Weird stuff about some people
5) Bought a few stuff which I really liked
6) Spend loads of time with my family
7) Lost some weight (not enough though)
8) Wrote an effing, difficult SOW (or at least part of it)
9) Baked a cake, cooked a meal
10) Cleaned and organized my and his wardrobe

What do I look forward to for next year?
1) To be an efficient subject head, form teacher, Eng and Lir teacher, ELDS teacher (basically to be better in my job)
2) Spending quality time with family & friends
3) To be a better person and to adopt a positive attitude in all that I do. Setbacks won't set me back.

Yup, no new year resolutions. Just a vow to be the best that I can be and hopefully enrich my life and the lives of the people around me. I've come to realize that life is pretty short so I need to make the best of it. I'll try not to let the small, negative things bother me. Instead, I will celebrate all the positive things, small as they may be.

Ok so that's it. I'm spending New Year's Eve and New Year Day with my favorite people, my family. Nope, no countdown... just a little prayer to God to thank him for giving me another year.

Ciao.

A Good Trip...

And so we're back. It was an enjoyable trip. Ayra thoroughly enjoyed herself except for the oh so many terrible mozzie bites that she got. The weather wasn't too bad, the company was good, the hotel room was roomy and Ayra had all her little cousins to play with. Amongst others, Ayra went kite flying, played with little chicks and rode a bike ridden by her underaged cousin!

We then left the "kampong" for the day to check into our hotel room. We were pleasantly surprised by its size and wondered why we never stayed here before.

After Ayra had her well deserved nap, we went to the nearby "Mahkota Parade" to do what else? Eat (there goes my diet!) and shop! Then, while Abah returned to Wak Midah's house to hang out (he brought Ayra along), Ibu had her well deserved rest in the hotel room. Ibu called home and Nenek said Fuddin was doing fine and not missing us a bit! Haha.

Anyway, we had to get up really early the next morning as it was Hari Raya Haji. They went for prayers and after that, it was time to sacrifice the cow. I had to explain to Ayra that the cow isn't sad because he's going to be with "Allah". She didn't want to look though (neither did I) so I sent Abah to take a video of the whole procedure. Here are some pics I manage to take though.

After that was done, we brought all the kids back to the hotel for a swim. Ayra was having so much fun that she braved the cold as it was drizzling slightly. After that, I brought the kids up to hang out at the club where we helped ourselves to the free drinks and snacks while Abah had his short nap.
Then, more food (I know) and shopping! "Mango" was having a sale and I nearly went crazy but ended up only buying a pair of pants there. Shucks.
The next morning we had our buffet at the hotel. The food wasn't exactly great but it was all right. Soon it was time to leave and before that, we managed to squeeze in some last minute shopping.
So that's it. I was pretty beat but it was a good break nonetheless. Gosh. Only one more week or so till school reopens. How time flies.
