Cousin Qomar's Birthday Party

Last Saturday, little Qomar's parents held a birthday bash to celebrate him turning 4. Anyway, today's his birthday so Happy Birthday Qomar!
The party was loads of fun and there was a lot of good food. Fuddin did his customary throwing up act when he saw all that food (in case nobody knows, let me enlighten everyone by stating that my pudgy boy does not eat a lot. In fact, he doesn't eat rice and throws up when he sees rice or any other "rich" food. He is however, a big fan of chocolate, milk, crackers....you get the point) so he was running around without his shirt most of the time. Ayra was in the thick of things, drawing a flower for the "Draw an animal Farm Competition" (go figure), getting knocked out after the third round of limbo and getting dressed up in newspapers (materpiece created by yours truly). In other words, she had a good time and brought home a whole lot of presents (game and lucky draw prizes); so many of them that it seemed as if it was her birthday!
I realize that Ayra has been getting so many birthday invitations this year. She has two Macdonalds party scheduled and there's little Cheryls party on Sunday. My girl is becoming quite a social butterfly!

Motherhood is not easy...

It's been a tiring past few days. Ayra has been down with high fever, up to 40 degrees celsius. I'm drained physically and mentally. I've been bathing her in the middle of the night and giving her medicine just to bring her temperature down. It will come down for a few hours only to come back with a vengeance. She's also loosing a lot of weight and looking pretty weak. I knew motherhood was tough but at times, I wonder if I can sustain the patience and energy to see my 2 kids through all their illnesses.
Still, I have no choice but to soldier on. She's better today and almost back to her talkative self. I pray the fever won't appear again tonight. I kind of miss sleeping! Haha!

Ayra's little achievements

Ayra and I decided to put some of her best art pieces up on display. All of these were done during her playgroup sessions at Apple Tree last year. Maybe I'll make one every year and line up her room with it. We'll see. Ayra's not doing much art in MMI now as she's on half-day care and the kids only do art at about 3pm so I have to make up for it by declaring every Thursday "Art Day" where we create at least one masterpiece to add to her collection.

I'm also thinking of sending her to Auntie Fiza's little sister (who's 17) for piano lessons soon. The problem is, Auntie Nat says I shouldn't get the mini piano as she will have problems when she takes her piano exams. Where do I place a piano in this house though? Hmmm... a parent's worries never ends.

Hanisah's 11th birthday

Ayra went to her favourite cousin's birthday celebrations yesterday. It was pretty low key but fun. We had to leave early though as it was already past Fuddun's bedtime and Fuddin wasn't too happy about that. Still we managed to enter the first game, which was drawing the best birthday cake for Hanisah. While Irsyad won the children's category, my dear hubby managed to clinch the adult's title. Not too bad, huh? Next Saturday is little Qomar's turn to turn 4.

Ayra spends her birthday at the beach

We decided to give Ayra a day off from school and bring her out. I asked her where she wanted to go and she promptly replied "the beach"! So we didn't have a choice but lugged her bicycle and we were off. On the way, we picked up reinforcements, namely Abang Irsyad and Abang Hakim.
Once there, we pitched our brand new 4 men tent (although there wasn't really a need to) and started building sandcastles with my special sandcastle tools.
Ayra and Irsyad soon got tired of building sandcastles and wandered off. This is them trying to impersonate an old kampong couple.
The two left to finish the sandcastle building were doing an okay job (I suppose). That's them posing beside their lovingly crafted piece of work.
On the way back, an insect (aka "penyengat") stung An on the small toe. It started to swell and yesterday, he had to get a jab.
Anyway, this photo pretty much sums up the day....
Haha. Topsy-turvy!
Anyway, Happy Birthday, the love of my life! L'Amour De Ma Vie! May you continue giving such joy to those around you....I do love you so.

Ayra's 4th Birthday

Ayra had her birthday party a day earlier. She couldn't really sleep the night before and threw a crying fit at midnight. She ended up asking for her milk bottle. I figured she was pretty traumatized by the deal she made earlier in the week; that she has to give up the bottle now that she's 4. Anyway, let's save that story for another day.
Anyway, we woke up early to put up the birthday sign and balloons.

While she and Fuddin had her afternoon nap,I and An rushed to town to get a piniata. Anyway, Ayra didn't understand that all the kids will rush for the sweets and chocolates once the piniata is broken. She just stood in the middle of the action, looking disapprovingly at all her cousins rushing to grab the goodies. Haha.
The guests (aka family members) arrived by 3pm.

After eating, we played some games. Ayra who is pretty obsessed with Spiderman was pretty pleased with the spiderman drawing competition. Check out the contestants.
Anyway, Syafiq emerged the winner. He's quite a talented little artist, don't you think?
We then had a balloon blowing competition, which wasn't very appreciated by the adults but
thrilled the kids.
Then it was the customary cake cutting. I had ordered a Swenson's ice cream cake which was so frozen when we took out of the cold box that we couldn't cut it up! We finally managed to cut it
after about 20 minutes.
Then came Ayra's favourite part- the unwrspping of presents. The gifts were unravelled and my little girl was qute pleased.
We ended the party with a shot of Ayra with all her presents. Look at her...

I'm glad she's still so childish... I am not ready to lose my baby girl.
Maybe next year, we'll do something different...I was thinking of a Macdonald's part. We'll see.

Bath Time!

Fuddin loves his bath time, especially if it's in the tub. However, most of the time I just give him aquick shower because I hate the way he howls everytime his bath in the tub is over. Once in a hile though, I will give him a treat and give him a long, "leisurely" bath. I decided to catch my "water baby" on camera.
