Homecoming

Baby Yusuf and his parents headed for home on Saturday. We miss him already. He's growing up nice and strong and can really wail when he's hungry. Grandma is quite upset about "loosing" Yusuf but I like I told her, "They're only in Woodlands!" Furthermore, "absence does make the heart grow fonder". Here's to Baby Yusuf's new start. May he be healthy and happy always.

West Coast Park (not quite...)

We were supposed to go to West Coast Park. Ayra had planned to cycle and Fuddin had planned to go to the playground and try his luck at eating sand again (it's a long story). Anyway, all that didn't materialise as the rain came down. We went to IMM instead and it was pretty crowded so we headed for home after an hour of aimless walking around. We ended up at the void deck which wasn't so bad after all.

Keeping the Flame Alive

I was putting Ayra to bed when I started thinking about Valentine's Day. An and I are not really into Valentine's Day but for the past few years we have exchanged really cheap gifts (like $15) to commemorate the day. It's not that we are cheapskates (although sometimes we are) but as cliche as it may sound, we really do not need Valentine's Day to remind ourselves how much we mean to one another.
Anyway, I was thinking of sneaking off for a date next weekend. Maybe we'll go to the beach, pitch a tent, have a MacDonald's big breakfast meal in it and then play Monopoly. Heehee. Sounds quite lame actually but we've come to appreciate all the private times we can afford eversince the kids came along. Even doing the most mundane task like buying groceries at the supermarket becomes a much treasured outing. It gives us the opportunity to talk and just spend quiet time together.
The seven year itch? It's not going to happen to us. Why am I so confident? Well, firstly we don't have the time or energy(believe me). Secondly, we value our kids too much. thirdly, our religion keeps us grounded and most importantly, we are happy together. Yes, we do quarrel at times but at the end of the day, I know life would be pretty meaningless without him and I know he feels the same way.
So in celebration of Valentine's Day, let me declare to the world "I love you An!" I thank God and you for our beautiful children. Thank you for your love, your stories, the late night snacks you prepare for me, the cross stiched kitten you painstakingly sewed for my 16th birthday but above everything else, thank you for being my friend. I do look forward to spending the rest of my life with you.

Mac Party

Ayra went to her classmate's birthday party today. She has been looking forward to it as she's been sick the whole week and had to miss school. It was quite a treat for her and her cute little friends. Now, she's looking forward to her birthday party. Hope she'll be even happier then.

Hello kitty

Fuddin has a new toy. It's a Hello Kitty stool which was passed on to him by a friend of my sis. Anyway, Fuddin was quite intruiged by the stool. It was quite hilarious seeing him turning the stool every each way and finally plopping himself on it. I finally had to take the stool away when he started standing on it and attempted to do his Superman impersonation. Scary. I will bring out the stool (it's in the store room now)once in a while to rekindle his interest periodically.
In the meantime, Fuddin is still running around as usual and he's constantly tumbling all over the place.
Funnily enough, he hardly makes a fuss and will promptly pick himself up and continue running - only to tumble again.
He also has a full (almost) set of teeth now and finding great joy in using those teeth to bite others! He will pretend to lean on your shoulder (or whichever part of your body he fancies) and before you know it, you have been a victim of the clumsy, sharped teeth one.
Haha! The joys (and perils) of motherhood.....

Cookie Monster

Here's my son being very tickled by Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. He only enjoys the part when Cookie eats his cookies greedily. He will propmptly revert to his solemn self once the eating is done. The video is also a good example of his run-tumble-get up-run again routine. I've gotten so used to it that I couldn't help lauging in this video but check out my mother's shriek! Haha! I assure you, there's more of those shrieks coming Fuddin's way. fuddin is really on a roll.
