It's almost the END....

The last time I blogged, it was a month to the end of the hols...alas, I'm left with only a few DAYS! Lament, lament...I can probably write an ode on it...but I'll resist the temptation.

Kk, on to more pleasant stuff. I went to CCK for the workshop and meeting. It was alright. The people there are pretty nice and my cubicle is alright (altho I didn't like it initially) but I'm having trouble with my email account and I still don't have a laptop and stuff. The school's pretty big compared to Dunearn so I reckon I'm gonna have some trouble navigating myself around it. Then there's like a 1001 things to see to, like admin stuff, SOWs, printing and stuff...in short, I'm stuffed. Whatever, like I always say, "It'll get done... somehow".
Now just an update on how I have been spending the last stretch of the hols.

We went to Sunway Lagoon! Haha...ya pretty lame by many people's standard but who cares? Ayra had a pretty good time and that's all that matters.

Here we are on our coach going towards Sunway. Ayra was cool about it...we managed to occupy her and ourselves pretty well.

We had to make a transfer at KL. An extremely grumpy old man with a beat up van took us to our hotel. It was pretty hilarious.

Finally, we reached our hotel. Our room was alright. Ayra went straight to the bathroom to check out the bathtub. Woohoo! A big one! I had specially bought a bottle of Bodyshop's bubble bath for her "rubby dubby" (in her words) time in the bathtub.

Then of course, during the course of the stay, we posed (It's just too tedious to describe everything), we ate, we shopped a bit, blah blah blah. Here are the pics.

Hubby showed off his "sniper" like skills. Pretty impressive huh?

Here are more pics of us just hanging around and making the best of our modest holiday.

Hmmm, next stop...Paris! Haha...yeah, right.

Enjoying my Hols!

Hello World. It's about 1 month till the school hols are over. That's not too bad. I'm in school today. I wanted to photocopy some stuff but it so happens that all the machines are acting up today so after exhausting my options, I strolled into the HOD room to do my photocopying there. What greeted me? All the HODs and the P and VP were there, finalising which teachers will end up teaching which classes. I decided to ignore them and do my photocopying anyway but I soon felt terribly uncomfortable, as if I was eavesdropping on top notch secret information so with a sigh, I gave up my photocopying (after 2 pages!) and left, terribly annoyed at myself for caring what these people thought of me. The truth is...I dislike most of these people and I'm glad I'm not working with any of them anymore. I know there are superiors everywhere but after almost 10 years of Dunearn "superiors", I'm sick of it. Anyway, now that that's out of my system, let me proceed to talk about much more pleasant things.
Anyway, Ayra is now an MMI graduate! Yup...the concert came and went. We got lousy way back there seats this year and coupled with a screaming toddler just right behind us, I ended being way more pissed than happy. Oh well, life ain't always good. Still, I managed to snap some
shots although they're pretty bad.

That's my little princess posing before and after the show.

These are some of the other childrens' performances.
These are pics from Ayra's performance. I was pretty annoyed as Ayra was at the extreme left of the stage and was blocked by the rostrum. Didn't anyone teach these people that when there's dancing on stage and the rostrum is not needed anymore, you move it away? Duh. Nvm. I'll be able to see her performance again when we get the DVD.

Here's Mommy and Daddy cam whoring while waiting to pick Ayra up after her performance.

Here's Ayra absolutely famished and enjoying her favorite chicken rice from IMM's Banquet.
What else? Oh we went to West Coast Park to do some kite flying. It was so sunny although it was already 6pm. I just snapped whatever I could, not really being able to see what I was snapping. Lol, trust me to do such things. Anyway, what's more important is that the kids (and an adult, ie.Roshan) enjoyed themselves. Even Fuddin kinda enjoyed himself, running around the big field.

There we are, enjoying our much needed break! Mac Attack!

I've been spending more time with the kids during the hols and I'm glad. During term time, I'm either busy or tired so I've been making an effort to do fun and constructive things with them. These are the perks of being a teacher yah?
Here's Ayra posing while on one of her many grocery shopping trips with me.

Later that same day, we had Juanita, Ayra's BFF from MMI come over to play. The kids had a great time, judging from the squeals of delight coming from Ayra's room.

Ok I'm gonna go but before I leave, I will leave you with a pic of my cupcakes! Yes, I baked! Haha...the cake was fine but I can't say the same for the frosting. I'm gonna go home and bake more coz my Fuddin loves my cupcakes. Woohoo! I will try to do a better job on the frosting this time round though. I also made some "wantons" (is that how you spell it?) yesterday. My bro and sis who came over both gave it the thumbs up! Hehe. I am inspired to cook more this holidays. Stay tuned.

Changes...

Ok ok I promised not to do a marathon entry again but I really was very busy. So now, Dunearnite is over, Fuddin's school term has ended and Ayra's concert and last day with MMI is this Saturday. In other words, I can breathe! Actually, even as we're speaking, I'm supposed to be doing work related stuff but it's ok la.

So how was Dunearnite 09? In my opinion, it was a kick-ass show. It felt good and I thought it was one of my most "polished" work. So there. Co-ordinating more performances in CCK Sec? Hmm, we'll see.

My lovelies from ELDS also threw me and Nat a surprise farewell party, complete with a yummy cake. Thanks guys...and Ms Naz as well for the sweet gesture! It was pretty hilarious to think that they wanted Mr Elyas to hide under the table. Haha! My parting words to you guys... "You guys rock and you know that...keep having fun, keep the good memories but most of all, study hard!"

Ok on the home front, things are alright. Fuddin finally said goodbye to his wonderful, caring teachers at Margaret Drive, especially Teacher June. Although Fuddin is unable to say it, we all know he had a great time and learned many new things there. Next stop. Yishun Park School. We're looking forward to it.

Anyway, here are some pics of my baby looking intently at something in a magazine. He looked so cute that I couldn't resist!

We've also been bringing Fuddin out more often. These trips are short but his behavior on most occasions was commendable! We're thoroughly inspired to bring him out venturing even more now. We love you Baby!

As for Ayra, she's been busy too. She attended her orientation at De LaSelle the other day. She seemed alright although I expected her to be more excited by the whole thing. Hmm, guess she's playing it cool. This is her last week of school and her concert cum graduation ceremony is on Saturday. My baby...finally a "graduate". Haha!

Exciting times ahead. A lot of changes for all of us in the family. I hope we'll all survive...my bro and sis included. At the end of the day, it's about being happy as a person and as a family. Simplicity is the key to happiness. My Roshan taught me that.

It's almost midnight and I'm being the faithful insomniac. I hate the fact that I can't sleep well at night.

I tend to reflect on my rather pathetic existence during times like these.

Yes, I am complicated but has anyone taken the time to understand me?

Yes, I am feeling down.

Why does he still doubt my sincerity?

Why is she keeping her distance?

Why do they ask for so much?

Why can't I be a better person?

Goddamnit. I'm only human.

When I was a teenager, I always thought my life was tough. Right now, life seems a lot worse.

Marking yet another year on Earth...

Alright. The updates. I celebrated my birthday. Big deal but I was happy that so meny people remembered. In usual Asrina style, my birthday was a low key event. I went to work and in the evening, we went for a nice dinner. We ended up buying Ayra a present so it felt like it was her birthday instead of mine.

That's her little friend; just that it's not so little. It was on sale and it was so fluffy and cute that I insisted she go it.

Anyway, Roshan went to Sepang not long ago to watch his idol, Valentino Rossi who became world moto GP champion for the 2nd year running. You rock Rossi! We love you!!!!!

As for my baby boy, he's been a grumpy little trooper. Still, when Teacher June requested for a close up shot of him, I immediately worked on it. Here are a few among the MANY shots I took.

I finally decided on the one in the middle. Nice? I like. Also, Fuddin is gonna transfer to Yishun Park next year. It'll paobably traumatise him for a bit but I think he'll be alright. He's much more aware of his surroundings now. I also need to get him to lose some weight (not because some arseholes call him fatso) but because it might be hazardous to his health. We've been told to bring him to a dietician. Yeah, we will.

Anyways, the lovely ladies (aka minahs) of Dunearn Sec got together a few weeks ago to have lunch together. It was a noisy but very fun affair! I will so miss these ladies when I leave. I will make an effort to keep in touch gals!

And oh....we went to Science Centre as a post exam activity. We were very excited when we thought we could view the "Bodyworks" exhibition for FREE. Alas, our luck ain't so good. The ticket only entitled us to view the Science Centre exhibitions (which we've viewed mamy times over) so we went to Macs and had breakfast. Before we went off though, I thought it'll be good to take a group pic to mark the occasion.

Hehe. Ok lah, I gotta go. A lot on my mind despite the hols coming soon. I'll live though.

Yet another marathon post...coz i refuse to be a slave to my blog...

Hehe...long time no see...or izzit long time no write...whatever...I shouldn't be the poster girl for ungrammatical English...considering I am an Eglish teacher :)

Anyway, to answer your questions...yes, I'm still alive...haha...
Ok, first up is... a little Aidilfitri get together organized by An's colleagues...after some persuasion. I figured, hell, let's just go... so with the children in tow, we went and it was alright actually. It was a pretty small affair so it was cool.

We also celebrated a few birthdays.

First up, little baby Eryna turns 1! Yes, the little angel is growing up. Lyn and Harun threw a simple but fun party with a lot of games and prizes for all the guests. Cool indeed.

We also celebrated Syahmi's 4th birthday! My handsome hero was all smiles when he saw the presents, especially the remote control car we bought him. Kids!

Last but not least, hubby turned 35! Happy Birthday honey! Like previous years, we didn't really have a big celebration...just a few small, inexpensive gifts and good food. Actually, I had planned a really good dinner somewhere nice but he declined the offer and opted instead for his favorite beef noodle at modestly priced "Secret Recipe", stating it's not really the food but the company. Hehe. *Blush. *Blush.
Ok up next, some milestones...first, Fuddin and his tippy cup! We've finally weaned him off the dreaded milk bottle. He was a little hesitant at first but as we know, Fuddin and his milk will and shall not be parted.

Then there's my new lappie! Netbook la actually. It's free! Well, if you really think about it, it's not really free coz they've probably included the cost price of the netbook in my monthly internet connection bill but that's a different story.

It's nothing fancy but I like it. Now, I can surf anytime, anywhere! Woohoo!
And oh, here's the biggest milestone ... my little girl in her primary 1 school uniform.

Cute, right? However, after much introspection, I think the skirt is a bit too long. Hmm, probably have to go back and exchange it for a smaller (thus shorter?) one. One of my colleagues said she looks like she's wearing a long dress. Haha. Poor baby. And oh, the kiasu mother in me also decided to take photographs of all the food stall signs in the canteen. The thing is, Ayra is still a bit unsure about handling money so I'm actually going to "train" her. No one's gonna cheat my little girl (God knows she might end up "cheating" the stall holders instead!).

Talking about school, I managed to trail Fuddin on one of his thrice weekly school sessions. I mean, I managed to follow him up till the time he boards the bus as I happened to be on leave that day. Anyway, we had a case conference with his teacher yesterday. Seems like he's doing alright but of coz, there's still a lot more work to be done. My pledge? To put in more effort from now on! Anything for my baby boy!

Ayra also went with Ryan and his parents to the SAF open house and did some swimming with them as well. Ryan adores his "kakak" so Ayra's pretty lucky as she gets to tag along with them everytime they have a fun outing planned.

As for work, the end is in sight! I just have Dunearnite to survive and I am done! All my marking's done! I still have irritating little tasks to do but it'll get done....hehe...somehow. To be nostalgic, here's a pic of my BFFs... we're all going our seperate ways and we all promise to stay in touch but let's face it...we have our own lives and even meeting up for the occasional lunch can be difficult...so I'm just gonna say this girls... We had fun and we'll try our best to keep in touch... and we'll keep the good memories alive alright babes? All the best!

Good grief! It's taken me more than an hour to blog this entry. This is why I hate to write these long entries so I vow to be a good blogger and try and update as soon as something worth mentioning happens. I don't know how the students do it. They blog about the minutest details and will proceed to describe their whole bus journey to school or something to that effect. Maybe it's the age gap but I can't imagine myself doing that. I mean, I love writing and stuff but that's pretty impossible (and redundant). Maany a times I've thought of giving up this blog but then I think of my childrenand how they'll love to look back at this blog when they're older so that's why I'm still here.
Alright. I'm gonna go. Stay cool, calm and collected, people. If all else fails, eat lots of chocolate. It always helps. You get fat but it helps. Trust me...been there, done that.
