The Beach

We woke up early today to go to East Coast beach. We promised Ayra before that we would go there to build sandcastles (like baby Cheryl). When we got there though, the weather was not good. The sky was dark so we hurriedly got down to business. Sad to say, none of us had the patience to build a proper sandcastle and soon we had abandoned the idea. We walked by the beach instead and got our feet wet. We tried looking for seashells but only found one which Ayra promptly picked up and brought home. Maybe next time we'll build a proper sandcastle. For now, we still can build sandcastles in the air. Hee hee.

Underwater World at Sentosa

Today, we visited the sea creatures at Underwater World. It was a short trip but an enjoyable one! Ayra was pretty amazed by the size of some of the fishes. The last time me and my family went there was about 8 years ago! Dad says the fishes are the same ones. Maybe they are. As for Fuddin, he was distant as usual but did express occasional interest. Anyway, here are the pics to remember our outing by.

Playtime!

Here is Fuddin taking his playtime very seriously. By the end of his "throwing ball" sessions, he will be sweating profusely and out of breath. Still, he will be very angry if we try and stop him or even attempt to carry him when he is playing. He definitely is a determined little boy; detemined to have his fun.

Suntec City

We took the kids to Suntec City on Sunday morning. We brought them to the Fountain of Wealth, the Koi Pond and after that we had lunch. It was all right although we couldn't find our parking space (and the car) as Suntec is really quite huge! No kidding! Fuddin wasn't as fascinated with the fountain as we thought he would be but he wanted to touch the Koi fish. Ayra fed them with the fish food we bought. Let me tell you; the fishes in that pond are really well-fed. Everyone was practically showering them with food. It is definitely a fish heaven. We also bought Ayra a Care Bear which looks exactly like a stuffed Care Bear but is actually a bag. Kinda cool actually though I'm way too old to be using it. Ayra wants to carry it to school. So who says you can't bring toys to school?

Fear Factor at the Playground

We went to Pasir Ris Fishing Pond last Saturday for An's company Family Day. Fuddin didn't go as I anticipated that the weather would be very hot. True enough, it was scorching. Ayra's cheeks were like two bright, red tomatoes at the end of the outing!
Anyway, An managed to catch a few fishes. He had a good time! I kept Ayra occupied with trips to the toilet (haha) and the playground. I put her on the kiddy swing but didn't realise she was actually petrified of it! Everytime I attempted to push her higher, she would scream. I managed to catch her reaction on video. I know it's mean of me to showcase her fear but it's quite hilarious! Anyway, let's hope she overcome her fears of swings one day. Haha.

Singapore's 41st Birthday

It's our nation's birthday. Way back on August 9th, 1965, Singapore separated from Malaya and became an independent nation. How far we've gone in 41 years. The school had the normal celebrations. The teachers wore red. Check out the red tees on me, Nat and Kavita.

Anyway, I watched the parade on tv. We wanted to see the fireworks last night but both me and An were feeling unwell so I guess it'll have to wait till next year. We brought the kids to Vivo City, which is actually the former World Trade Centre. The place has changed! It looks really good now, with all the new shops but sadly, we can't view the ships. It's all guarded now but we managed to find one area where we could photograph ourselves with the big ship as the backdrop. We bought Ayra a stuffed pink caterpillar which we have named Pinky coz it (duh) pink.

After that, we went to Kakak's house and Ayra had her fun with her cousins. Fuddin was a bit friendlier than usual too and had some fun exploring Wak Tijah's house as well. All, in all, it's been a happy day for us.

FaMiLy aFfAir

My 4 nephews came over today with their parents and boy, was it a lively affair! I had a taste of what it would be like to have 6 children! Haha! Don't think I can handle it. Ayra was kept really busy. She and Shauqi, who is almost a year older, got down to serious playing followed by a session of colouring. Here's some pictures to show the two cousins bonding.
Fuddin on the other hand, was not amused. He was clingy and when he wasn't, would roam around the house aimlessly with his less than steady steps.
Anyway, although my parents and I were dead tired trying to keep up with the kids, it was a happy affair.

Sick...

It's that time of the month again. My children are ill! Fuddin especially. His asthma like sympthoms are acting up again. He's going to the doctor today. I do hope he gets better. Everyone at home is sleep deprived and Fuddin hasn't been drinking his milk. He keeps throwing up. It's really sad to see him like this. I do hope and pray he'll be back to his mischevous and hungry self really soon. Insya allah.
