Singapore's 41st Birthday

It's our nation's birthday. Way back on August 9th, 1965, Singapore separated from Malaya and became an independent nation. How far we've gone in 41 years. The school had the normal celebrations. The teachers wore red. Check out the red tees on me, Nat and Kavita.

Anyway, I watched the parade on tv. We wanted to see the fireworks last night but both me and An were feeling unwell so I guess it'll have to wait till next year. We brought the kids to Vivo City, which is actually the former World Trade Centre. The place has changed! It looks really good now, with all the new shops but sadly, we can't view the ships. It's all guarded now but we managed to find one area where we could photograph ourselves with the big ship as the backdrop. We bought Ayra a stuffed pink caterpillar which we have named Pinky coz it (duh) pink.

After that, we went to Kakak's house and Ayra had her fun with her cousins. Fuddin was a bit friendlier than usual too and had some fun exploring Wak Tijah's house as well. All, in all, it's been a happy day for us.
