All-in-One-Post

Hmm, just an update. I brought some of my students out to visit religious sites last Monday in conjunction with Racial Harmony Day. Out of 33, only 7 came! I wasn't really surprised though as they had "prepared" me by blatantly telling me "I'm taking MC!" Oh well, I didn't have too bad a time and it was a little cosy group. It was a break from the customary concert we usually have to commemorate the day and I'm sure most of the students (including myself) learned quite a few things from our visits.

Then on Saturday, we brought Fuddin swimming to the Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex. It's only about an 8 minutes walk from home and although we have to pay to enter, we had the kids' pool all to ourselves (unlike at the Civil Service Club). I might just cease my membership with the Civil Service Club. I don't see the point of paying $6 a month when I hardly go there. So anyway, Fuddin had a whale of a time and we realised that our boy is not afraid of the water AT ALL! He's so unlike his sister who hardly wets her hair when she's in the pool and just frolics around, splashing water here and there. Fuddin was diving and when he lost his footing and was submerged in water, he simply picked himself up, gave himself a little shake and went on. Haha! Yes, my fearless Baby Boy.

And here's just some random photos, all taken with my Samsung F480 5 Megapixel Camera Phone.

And to you, thanks for all the patience, kindness and attention you've showered me with these past few weeks. We will get where we want to be soon.

And remember my name
But everybody's changing and
I don't feel the same

The Monopoly Junior Queen Speaks...

Hmm, no photos...whih is ironic because I've been going on and on about what I can do with my 5 megapixel phone camera when I get it. Well, it's been a week and as you can see, not much progress. Well, for one thing, this phone sucks the life out of its battery pretty fast! So whenever I do want to take a picture, the battery is running low! Ok, that's a lame excuse coz my phone can't be out of battery every single time right? Ok, I'll try harder... from NOW on. Really.

I have such a really lazy streak. I mean I am as efficient as I can be when I choose to do so (or when I have no choice) but I can also be really, really lazy. I am a champion procrastinator if I choose to be. I owe my HOD like stuff that was due a few months back! I know, I need my job. I will work harder.

Anyway, me and Roshan played Monopoly Junior with Ayra last nght. We didn't finish the game coz it was already late but when we calculated what each of us was worth, I emerged the winner with a grand total of $45! Ayra was next with $37 and poor Roshan who was overly ambitious, only managed a miserly $32. He's itching to have his revenge I'm sure. Haha.

As for Fuddin, he's screaming a lot more nowadays, really throwing a full blown tantrum at me last night. Sigh... sometimes I wonder if he'll grow up to be a spoilt brat but then I realise its us adults who pamper him so and thus to be blamed.

I'm always so sleepy at the most inappropriate times nowadays. When I'm not supposed to be asleep (like in class, hanging out with my kids, etc.), I am so sleepy it hurts but as soon as the kids are in bed and I'm free to sleep, I'm as awake as can be. Go figure! It's really weird and terribly troublesome for me.

I miss rambling on my blog...

Ok...new phone and new hair.

No more frizzy curly hair. Just dry, straight hair. Haha. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I totally dig my new phone though. It's totally awesome. I like.

Anyway, I'm going with some teachers to meet the CEO of Charles & Keith in a while. It's part of this learning journey thing the school is doing for the teachers. I read their profile and apparently the brothers didn't even pass their O levels and they are millionaires now! Urgh! Like how unfair is that?

I've always reckoned that I was destined for better things. I always thought that I had the versatility and street smartness to open up my own business but look at me now. I'm still here. I mean I can't complain. I love teaching and I am paid a not so bad amount each month. Still, I can't help but feel this sense of longing for something that should have been.

I guess that's life. You live and then you die. What happens in the middle is not entirely up to you. Yeah...Fate... that's what it's called.

It's gonna be a "family" weekend. He's off till Monday. We must make the best out of our time together.

Changes...

If all goes well, I will have my new Samsung F460 by today. It's a touchphone which will be a first for me. What I like about it is that it's slim (unlike the Sony EricssonCybershot C902) and has a 5.0 Megapixel camera. Very nice. I hope I will learn how to navigate the menu soon enough though.

I've also decided to terminate my singnet line. My computer was infected by this virus like a week back and I haven't been able to use the internet. I figured this is a good time to get a new PC (or laptop) but it's gonna cost me. Sigh. I'm hoping for a promotion whereby you get a free computer when you sign up for broadband. Last I heard they have ceased doing that. Is that true?

Also, I'm getting rid of my curls today (Hello straight hair) and going on a diet (yet again). I feel so sluggish nowadays. It's time I take control don't you think?

I'm taking it one step at a time.

A Long Weekend

So I was off work since Saturday and I only came back to work today. It was a good break but I didn't do much work and now that I'm done, i'm still not doing much work! Haha!

We brought the kids to Playground @ Big Splash. We thought they had an indoor playground like the one at Downtown East but when we got there, the teacher told us that they only conduct guided "classes" but the kids can join for a one time payment. Fuddin definitely was not interested so I left Ayra there for her hour long "class" while me and An brought Fuddin around.

Fuddin was quite well behaved and the three of us had a quiet, good time strolling the beach.

Ayra on the other hand, was having a ball with her new friends. When I picked her up an hour later, she was sweaty and thirsty! Playtime can be hard work!

We also brought the kids swimming. I think it'll be a weekly affair as the kids really love it and it's a break from going to the malls or the parks.

Hmm, now back to work. There's so much to do that I don't even know where to start. I'm not intimidated though. I'll get it all done... somehow... sometime... hee.
