Our Hectic Weekend...

What a hectic weekend. It was fun though. On Saturday morning, Ayra skipped her religious lessons to go to the zoo with us, Fuddin, Bibik Linda and family. The weeather was unforgiving and Fuddin was sweating profusely soon after we arrived. We knew Fuddin wouldn't appreciate walking in such hot weather so we got tram tickets. Initially, he was wailing when we first got on but he soon decided that he liked standing on the seats as he felt the breeze around him. In fact, he liked it so much that we decided to go one round on the tram, just taking in the sights. We didn't really see many animals at all although we did manage to view the notoriously infamous white tiger. We also went to the Kids World where the kids splashed around. Ayra enjoyed herself while Yusuf was a bit cautious. Fuddin decided to merely sit in the pool. He didn't seem to enjoy his time there like he does at the swimming pool. Anyway, we left a bit earlier while Ayra stayed with Bibik, Yusuf and Uncle Steven to watch the animal show. Me and An were so beat when we got back but amazingly, Fuddin and Ayra both skipped their afternoon naps that day although they were evidently tired as well. Kids...you wonder where they get their energy from.

Then in the evening , Roshan and I went to Fort Canning to attend his colleague's wedding dinner.

What a grand affair. As soon as I entered the place, someone shouted my name. It was one of my closest friends back from my secondary school days! What a pleasant surprise. We exchanged numbers and promised to catch up again soon. We left soon after dinner to celebrate what was left of our Valentine's Day but guess where we ended up? At the 24 hours NTUC outlet at Jurong Point where we did our monthly grocery shopping! How romantic. It wasn't so bad actually... being the nerdy parents we are, we actually enjoy grocery shopping! Anyway, by the time we got home, it was 1.00 am and we were exhausted. Off to bed.

On Sunday, we got up bright and early. We brought Ayra for a Macdonalds breakfast, then practically drove around the whole Western part of Singapore to buy stuff for her upcoming birthday bash. We managed to get some stuff then off to the library. I've decided that Sunday morning, with or without Roshan around, is library day. I once had this 17 year old student whose Dad brought him to the library every Sunday morning since he was 2! I think it's a good way to bond as well as inculcate a very good reading habit as well! Again the weather was pretty darn hot (what's up with the weather eh?). We went homeafter that but I was unsatisfied with what we bought for the party so An and I headed out again (minus Ayra this time) to complete our shopping. We did manage to get most of the stuff so that's good. Then, at 8.00 pm, the very tired but wonderfully doting father brought his beloved daughter to her adored Kakak Anissa's house to play while I stayed behind to spend some quality time with our baby boy.

Then finally at 10pm, me and Roshan finally managed to retreat peacefully into our room. It was a marathon weekend indeed. Still, I'm looking forward to another equally hectic weekend next week. Parents... they're such suckers when it comes to their kids. Hehe.
